About the Author
Lisa Flowers is a certified holistic health coach educated at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City as well as a postpartum doula and lactation educator trained at the Simkin Center at Bastyr University.
She is the author of Real Food: The Ultimate Medicine—Happiness: The Natural Side Effect and soon to be published Real Food: The Ultimate Medicine Cookbook.
Additionally, she writes children’s books, including the upcoming Walter, the Great White Shark.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. You Never know when you're going to need this book.. By T C Barillier Two weeks ago, this book was a very good book. Full of great information and healthful tips on making better food choices, but this week I spent 3 days in a hospital with congestive heart failure due to Persistent Atrial Fibrillation. The reality that this can be controlled through diet has made her book more like a Bible than a reference book. I am re-reading with purpose and I have to say that Ms Flowers has presented as clean and concise approach as the food she promotes. I will be reading several times over the next few weeks and I hope she follows it up with even more valuable tips and recipes. A fine book that I recommend you read before you are forced to like me.

The food that nourishes and goes deep, into cells, psyche, emotions, and well-being. Lisa's style is engaging and friendly. She writes what she knows. There are deeper levels in this book that do not appear at the first reading. As I would read a chapter, or a paragraph, I would be nodding my head in agreement at the simple changes I could make to my daily habits. Then, later in the day, I would get a glimpse of the why and how of that habit, and realize that what Lisa did best was to point me to a way of deep inner healing and wholeness. I highly recommend reading this book!
