She was rescued and adopted by a affluent family. The book starts off with Scarlet being abandoned by her mother, and how she met the family who adopted her. The story then goes onto present day. Scarlet then meets David, who is a doctor and a client of her family's architect firm. Its intsa-love or lust for both. With out giving anything away I will say some of the scenes were just too far fetched. I got to chapter six and I put it down. I had a hard time getting into it. I didn't want to put it on my DNF shelf so I picked it back up a few weeks later to finish it. The book is written in first person, however, it feels like it was told in third person. You know when a book is written in third person, you don't really get in the characters head, its hard to grasp the emotions. Well, thats what it was like for me reading this book. I felt the characters weren't well developed, the plot was predictable, and nothing really stood out to me. ** this is my honest opinion about the book ** I do wish the author lots of success!

By Amazon Customer What can i say about Author Krihstin Zink..Well if said everything i would be here all day saying how great this read was. I wasn't sure what lured me into reading this book, most likely my Kindle Unlimited subscription and a whole lot of free time, but things happen what can i say. I knew i wanted to read something steamy but i always needed some substance, something most books lack in this genre. From the cover through to the first couple pages i was hooked. Not knowing what i was getting myself into at first i was thrilled i had made the right choice by giving Scarlet's Torment a try. No spoilers here, but trust me from the characters to the plot and let me not forget the temperature raising moments, everything was top notch. I really hope she comes out with another because by the time i was finished i needed more. A definite must buy and 5 Stars from me. I usually respect other people opinions but anything less than 5 Stars would be a travesty, just saying. Most definitely recommend and if you're on the fence i say just go ahead and check this book out.

By Stephenee * I received an ebook in exchange for an honest review. *This is author Krihstin Zink's debut novel and it packed a huge punch! The plot, setting, details and characters didn't feel like they were a first time author's work - they were so well done that it seems like she has been writing for years. The author spent a lot of time making sure that the characters were developed, that the reader was hooked from the very beginning and the details that the author threw in were so much fun to read! If there is a clothing or shoe designer out there, they were name dropped in detail throughout this story. The reader instantly falls in love with Scarlet - she had the worst beginning to life, but slowly things turned around for her and she finally found out what family and love really mean. She meets David and it is lust at first site - but is that enough?!? Enter crazy ex-fiance Kate and the reader is yelling, crying, and on the edge of their seat waiting for the non-stop action, twists and turns to stop. There was no predicting where this story was going next! The reader runs through the entire gamut of emotions as they take this journey with Scarlet, her friends and her family. The reader will laugh, cry, ugly cry and impatiently wait on the edge of their seat trying to figure out what may happen next! The author uses so much detail throughout each aspect of the story, whether it be the architecture, the location (I could see the clear blue water and feel the Florida breeze on my face), or even just the finest details such as the gated community, the reader could vividly picture each and every thing that the author describes. She really takes the reader straight into the pages of her book! The only downfall to this book was that there were more than a few spelling, punctuation and grammar mistakes throughout the story. Usually this is a major turn-off for me, but the story and the characters were so well done that I was able to overlook it. The story really takes over and the minor things aren't so important when you are reading the book. This is an amazing book that needs to be added to any TBR list and fast tracked to the top of the list - go on this phenomenal journey with Scarlet and find out if she finally gets her Happily Ever After! Enjoy, I know that I did!!
