By Lee Ann LaRocca Lily's honesty, openness and keen ability to find unique gifts and opportunities for growth in challenging as well as seemingly ordinary situations, made reading this book a truly moving and enlightening experience. As a mother of 3 children, two with special needs, Lily shows us by heartfelt and sometimes humorous example that because someone appears different or expresses themselves differently, does not mean they are not engaging in meaningful and valuable communication. We are helped to see the need for expanded awareness on the part of "typical" people to realize our own limitations when it comes to interacting with and communicating with people of special needs.
