Reading this book has made me understand what inflammation is. The inflammation process is one of the ways in which the immune system and the white blood cells react to fight against pathogens such as; viruses, bacteria and fungi. Inflammation is believed to play a major role in heart disease, obesity and cancer and is mostly triggered by foods rich in sugar and saturated fats. These food substances make the immune system overactive, contributing to fatigue, joint pain and damage to blood vessels.By adopting a diet rich in foods that fight inflammation, one can counter toxins and free radicals. Therefore, if you are seeking to get the fight against inflammation started, this book is definitely for you as it contains nice recipes that are nutritious and helps one avoid inflammation.

I don't hate it but I don't love it either By Jam Diaz This is the second book I've read from author Joanne Howards, and sad to say, the flaws are still present and very much consistent with the first book, Cookbook: CROCKPOT - Healthy Recipes, Easy To Make, Lose Weight with Delicious Meals (Crockpot Recipes, Slow Cooker, Dinner Recipes, Breakfast, Soup, Slow Cooker Cookbook, Stew). I really advice she hires a good editor/proofreader because the concept of the book is really promising. In fact, the recipes she provided are really good and easy to make. But the execution part is where the problem lies. The Grammar Nazis would have a feat if they chanced upon her book. And also, I want to reiterate that nutritional value should have nominal values present because it is one way of proving that said recipes have a high chance of helping you lose some weight because of lesser fat content etc. Consulting to a nutritionist/dietitian will solve this setback. I hope the author put this into consideration if she plans on writing a new book about food and weight loss.

Fortunately, we can now combat inflammation by simply including specific food in our diet. With anti-inflammatory diet we can now learn how to have specific foods that can influence the inflammatory process. This book had explained well what anti-inflammatory diet is all about and it help me decide to pursue or not this kind of diet.
