About the Author Gabriella Kindert, MBA, MA is a successful executive in the financial services industry. Her career has entailed extensive international travel and the ability to work well with people from a wide spectrum of cultural, educational, and economic backgrounds in order to create sustainable plans for the success of a variety of companies. She has also been founding partner of several successful companies. In addition to her career responsibilities, she is a devoted wife and the mother of two children. As her schedule got busier and the demands of her home and work life grew, she made a conscious decision to take control of her nutrition in order to improve the quality of her relationships, mental well-being, physical health, and her entire life. The notable change in her appearance and health inspired others to ask for her advice, and she watched them go on to achieve the same long-term success she had found using the power of nutrition. Understanding the unique pressures and stress executives face and how these factors make it harder to maintain health and vitality, she was inspired to share what she has learned about the role of proper nutrition and good food choices for long-term results. A lot of elements go into high performance and The Busy Executive Diet does a masterful job of hitting on all of them. Starting with healthy eating habits come extra stamina and energy to power through those business trips and long pressure-filled days. For me, I was looking for a program I could buy into without feeling like I was being duped into unrealistic sales pitches. The small changes I made with this book have paid huge dividends in my everyday working life. I no longer get that 2:00 lull. 5 stars!

Working long hours on projects with virtually no time for yourself, you pick the easiest thing available: fast food or delivery. Unfortunately, those foods are so full of calories, fat, and salt, and, in no time, one will pack on the pounds. But it is not the case that just because we are super busy that we have to sacrifice nutrition. Any plan that could work for executives, however, must incorporate efficiency.Enter: The Busy Executive’s Diet. This book is written by an executive who also understands firsthand how busy you actually are when you make comments like “I have no time to cook.” She is not there to chide you, but will give you plenty of tips so that you can make wise choices.What I really like about this book is that it is catered for the executive—generally people who are more interested in the “why” and not just the “get thin quick” tips. She really takes the time to explain why it is that our metabolism acts in certain ways, why we feel really depressed after eating certain foods, and how stress really can lead to poor health. This education is really important, I think, for people to actually make a chance to eat better.Prosper B&B, her nutrition solution, is not rocket science, nor is it unrealistic. The simple truth is that executives are busy, will be busy, and will not miraculously have tons of time to cook organic food from vegetables they grow in their gardens. The author meets the executives in the middle, giving them tips for small changes they can make. For example, she talks about the “power foods,” as foods that people should focus on and the importance of staying very hydrated (especially in the coffee-centered universe we live in). Similarly, she gives tips of how to incorporate exercise (the flip side of the coin) into a busy schedule.I have read lots of weight loss books, and what makes this one different is that it doesn’t shame you for not having enough time. I think that executives who read books with that tack will shy away. This author acknowledges that the life of an executive is different than other people, and she instead caters the plan to those people.

Your weight loss begins at the grocery store and your choices when dining out.”Kindert’s book is not a diet book and that is a very good thing as she strips away all the confusion and lies about traditional and fad diets and gives us a doable lifestyle change. She understands busy lifestyles and that we’re not always able to eat right due to the expense and more importantly, that we don’t have two hours to spend in a gym everyday. Finally someone who gets that I can’t go out and buy organic food however, she is honest in explaining that diet foods and low fats are not what we have been led to believe and maybe causing some of our obesity problems. If you are looking for easy how-tos and diet meal plans this is not it. There are meal plans, but there is only one chapter devoted to that the rest of the book is pure, honest, profound truth to changing your life. I found Kindert’s writing style easy to read making it great to understand and apply. My only disappointment is the book is very graph and chart oriented and on a tablet can be at times difficult to read. Nevertheless, I highly recommend “The Busy Executive Diet” not only for executives, but anyone with a desire to fight the chains of obesity and become healthy.“I trust this book will make a difference for you. By investing a little time to read it, you will be gaining complete control of your well-being. I feel confident in this, and I promise you that you will notice a lasting difference in your life.” So after reading that I am looking forward to the “new me” and with Kindert’s remarkable motivation you will too.
