From the Author PrefaceDid you know that Southern California is universally considered the epicenter of the Bodybuilding and Fitness Model worlds? With that having been said, it's not surprising to learn that the most frequent question I get asked is how I got my start in this business and what route I took to get here today. Between Hollywood and the Mecca of Bodybuilding (Gold's Gym - Venice Beach) the area is the destination for aspiring models, actors, and bodybuilders determined to follow in the footsteps of an iconic celebrity. Fitness continues to be one of those careers that many people are obsessed with, particularly in finding the path of least resistance to the ever elusive Aesthetic, Greek Godlike Physique. My story isn't the stereotypical transformation that has flooded the industry, where I go from overweight to 5% body fat in 8-10 weeks, with the assistance of certain "enhancers". I did, however, start at the bottom without having any friends or family in the industry. I worked my way up by virtue of my relentless work ethic and determination to learn everything about the human physique, so I would not be like everybody else. My journey, starting in 2002, has been incredible and so unpredictable sometimes it felt like a rollercoaster. In 2015, I am now a national level Physique Bodybuilder, a celebrity personal trainer, and best-selling health and fitness author. After completing my first year of Graduate School at Penn State University and moving to Southern California, my life would never be the same. I was slowly developing knowledge on fitness but that exploded when I was surrounded by Southern California's best minds. California is where I learned the appreciation for Nutrition and the Organic Lifestyle. This combined with my knowledge of training is what has allowed me to grow to be such a powerful fitness professional. All the countless workouts, conversations, education, and client transformations have gotten me to this point. Being asked over and over for the tips, secrets, tricks, and every other synonym to my training, nutrition, and lifestyle habits that give my physique; I decided I needed to share it with the world. I initially used social media but I could not keep up with requests and questions. Advice to Fitness Beginners Fitness beginners ask me to recommend a fitness book that's appropriate for someone just starting out. In all honesty, there have been very few quality books written since Arnold Schwarzenegger's The New Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding: The Bible of Bodybuilding, Fully Updated and Revised (Simon & Schuster; Rev Upd edition November 5, 1999). This book will always be considered a classic and is a must read. This book takes many similar concepts but it even fails to emphasize the importance of an organic lifestyle. When combined with the online Look Amazing Naked community, this book is unequivocally the best resource available for today's health and fitness seeker. It addresses every level, from novice to pro, and covers a wide range of strategies - from the basics of training principles and supplement guides to advanced techniques of macro nutrients, carb-cycling, and other nutrition techniques that allow you to eat a large amount food and even your favorite foods in moderation while developing the perfect body. To further emphasize my point, consider the following analogy: A baseball player may be a great hitter and capable of hitting a fastball, or a breaking ball, but until he can also hit a curveball he is not a five-tool player. If you want to be in the best shape of your life and healthy, you must understand an organic Lifestyle, Activity, and Nutrition. Furthermore, until you've honed your craft, you may be able to lose some weight in the short term, but consistent health and fitness in the long term will prove elusive. The ideas and concepts I discuss here in this book and on the online Look Amazing Naked community come naturally to me; after years of learning what works and what does not work. The more challenging part is conveying this knowledge in a manner that is easy to understand for my audience. Clients and members of the online community have told me countless times how they would love to extrapolate my health and fitness knowledge and implant it in to their own minds. With this book, I have attempted to do just that. The strategies and principles outlined here are the ones I employ on a daily basis to stay in between 5 - 10 % body fat year around and demonstrate to my clients, many who use their body to earn a living and pay their bills. Some might tell you that "those who can't do teach," but I don't think that applies to fitness, as why would you trust someone to teach you who doesn't have a proven track record? Never, I repeat, never trust a chubby trainer. Even if they have the knowledge of fitness they do not have the will power and drive to make their own physique incredible. If they can't drive themselves how do you expect them to drive you to the results that you deserve? Guaranteed Results?There are no guarantees in life, and I would never promise a certain amount of weight loss, physique development, or that my techniques will guarantee that you see fitness results. If anyone ever promises you that, you should run for the hills. My goal is not for people to mimic and follow my principles for just seven days, but rather to provide the tools to allow them to make their own smart health and fitness choices every single day. I'm a believer in the old proverb "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to be a fisherman and you feed him for a lifetime." By Amazon Customer I was actually fortunate enough to read this before it hit the mainstream having had the chance to meet the LAN team in person. The book is a great addition to the LAN movement designed as it would seem to bring critical pearls of knowledge to anyone interested in meeting a fitness goal. The simple breakdown of Lifestyle, Activity, and Nutrition, makes this book a wonderful kickstart reference toward living a healthy lifestyle and making your workouts count. Other fitness books lack the same concise explanations, and it is important to dispel the myth of success with fad dieting. This was on point about incorporating change into your life that is sustainable and comfortable. The other great thing is that I read this book in 3 days. It won't lose your attention.

With Justin's hands-on approach and motivational tones this book is a must read for anybody who wants to Look Amazing Naked. What separates this book from other fitness and nutrition books is, Authenticity. Justin has really made me enjoy getting into the gym and eating healthy. LAN's facebook and website have also been amazing sources of material and awesome content. Would recommend this book to everybody!!
