About the Author Diana is a Colorado native (b. 1947) with honors degrees from Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado. In spite of graduating with highest distinction, completing her university honors thesis with highest distinction, and induction into Phi Beta Kappa - early childhood traumas coupled with Evangelical Fundamentalist programming - left Diana believing she was evil and stupid until licensed therapy knit her back together and rewired her brain which enabled her to think for herself, use her education to deconstruct Evangelical Fundamentalism and escape its toxic grip over her mind and life.

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Authentic, helpful and gripping By Amazon Customer Horrific yet hopeful. How can a literary work be described by these diametrically opposed words? Yet this is an accurate description of Diana Lee's autobiographical book, Shattered Diana. The book is an honest and open description of Diana's life, the first 50 years being horrific due to severe physical, emotional and spiritual abuse. Yet even though Diana was institutionalized and dismissed as being "hopeless" by both family and physicians, through the help of friends, educators trained in the neuroplasticity of the brain and appropriate counseling, Diana found hope and healing.Although the book is autobiographical, it addresses serious societal issues especially those affecting children--which deserve recognition, advocacy and action to prevent other children from experiences such as Diana's.

By Denver Suzanne I was shocked to read that this religion could cause such pathology in individuals and families. I do recall inviting the Senior High Group of afundamentalist church to my Senior High Church Group for socialization on a Sunday evening. They responded with no reason but a simple"no." I felt judged by them and realized they felt their religion was sacrosanct to my religion. I cannot wait to read Diana's next books.

By Colorado Shopper The cover is soft like velvet is exceptionally comforting.I am reading slowly as there seems to be more tears (mine) than I can contain.The book is held at arms length for it now belongs to me, a treasure that mustnot be tarnished from the steady flow from my eyes.Each word written, resonates to the core.Dr. Robert Block, former President of the American Academy of Pediatrics stated, "Adverse childhood experiences are the single greatest unaddressed public health threat."Thank you Diana Lee, M.A. for giving others the opportunity to see truth.
