7 of 8 people found the following review helpful. Good cover photo, not-so-good content By Jam Diaz This book has a lot of potential. Sad to say, the flaws I've seen outweigh the good parts. The author tends to expound instructions in a series of sentences when in fact it could have been explained in just a sentence. Take in this one for example,"This soup is low in carbs, cholesterol, and is heart healthy too. It is gluten free and full of fiber too. Broccoli helps reduce cholesterol and is a powerful antioxidant. The garlic in the dish is also an antioxidant. The dish is rich in sodium. It is also rich in the mineral potassium. You will be able to obtain the vitamins A and K through the dish."Also, the author is not consistent with the flow of her thoughts, jumping from one topic to another and goes back again, making her writing a tad chaotic for my eyes to concentrate. And not to forget the nutritional value without any value present. If the book targets the readers who are weight-conscious, nominal value for each nutrient MUST be visible. Overall, this book needs an overhaul and a good editor/proofreader to ensure a satisfied reader in the end.

Title says “lose weight with delicious meals”. I don’t know whether that’s possible, coz I’ve always felt that the most delicious food are like the most un-healthy ones….at least not healthy enough to eat in large quantities.I just purchased this book a few days ago (mostly because the cover really hit me), but I did try out 3 or 4 meals from here. Didn’t matter to me if it was dinner, breakfast or brunch…usually it doesn’t matter to me anyway as long as I get to eat a good meal :D.The top most ones on my list was the crockpot desserts…. I saw there was the nutritional value given in some recipes, that’s a good benefit of this book because I like to know how and why anything (whether is healthy food or homemade cosmetics) helps me out. The rice pudding and berry cobbler only took about 2 ½ cooking hours so I made that first, but apple pudding is next up on my list. I think I’ll make it in the weekend.Though I really hoped there could have been some photos of the dishes for me to feast my eyes on. Sometimes that's how I decide what to cook, by looking at the photos :D

Its kinda easy for me to find my way to the recipe that I want because they are arranged into categories; breakfast, meats, soups etc.. I managed to make the post roast and breakfast casserole from the recipes given here. Sad to say, that after how the results turned out with them, I don't think I'll be able to keep my weight in check *wink* ...... My husband agrees with me!Though some improvements could have been made here; Such asincluding the preparation timeincluding the nutrition value of ALL the recipes instead of just a fewadding a few images to the recipes here and there, just to make this more visually attractiveDespite these 'improvements', I think that could be made, I like the whole arrangement of the book and the numerous and varied recipes available here.
