The author speaks very praisingly of Morris but I am guessing this may be a style that was accepted in biographies written in this time period. Overall, from my perspective of not knowing much about Morris, I found it interesting to learn more about his life.

I like lots of flavor in my meals and these deliver! The recipes are simple and easy to make, and in a slow cooker for busy individuals. Slowly working through all the deliciousness of this book and so far everything I've made has been delish. Definitely recommend!

Killing two birds with one stone-nutrition and time saving :-) By Jennifer I own the eponymous slow cooker myself, two, in fact...one that holds 1.5 quarts that is just right for side dishes, and the other is about 3 quarts and does great with meat dishes. Courtesy of relatives at Christmas :-)And the best thing about them is that all your legwork is at the start of the day...then you get to set and forget until dinnertime. Nothing beats that! But if you don't own one already, Diana includes some shopping tips to help you out with that part. I do not use mine every day, but I got some tips for how to use mine even better!I guess the part I hate the most is that spaghetti is not a Paleo-approved staple...I understand this to mean the pasta part, being an enriched or refined product which I know is not good....However, I have been informed by another source that julienned zucchini is a great substitute :-)I will definitely have to try out that cranberry stuffed apple recipe for sure!I was gifted with a copy of this book by the author in exchange for my honest perspective.

About the Author Joe R. Feagin, currently Ella C. McFadden Professor at Texas A&M University, graduated from Baylor University in 1960 and acquired his Ph.D. in sociology at Harvard University in 1966. Feagin has taught at the University of Massachusetts (Boston), University of California (Riverside), University of Texas, University of Florida, and Texas A&M University. Feagin has done much research work on racism and sexism issues and has served as the scholar in residence at the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. He has written 53 books, one of which (Ghetto Revolts) was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. He is the 2006 recipient of a Harvard Alumni Association achievement award and was the 1999–2000 president of the American Sociological Association. He is also the 2013 recipient of the Arthur Fletcher Lifetime Achievement Award by the American Association for Affirmative Action.José A. Cobas is Professor of Sociology in the School of Social and Family Dynamics, Arizona State University. Among his recent publications (with Joe Feagin) are "Latinos/as and the White Racial Frame: The Procrustean Bed of Assimilation," Sociological Inquiry (February 2008) and "Language Oppression and Resistance: Latinos in the United States," Ethnic and Racial Studies (February 2008).

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Just what I needed. By debbie price Two months ago I had a bit of a medical scare. That day I cut out all bad carbs and sugar. It was very hard but I've actually be able to make a life style change. I have gotten my blood sugar down to higher end of normal. But really haven't lost any weight after the init few pounds. From the information in this book I realized I eat way too much protein which is probably inhibiting my weight loss. This book gives easy to understand steps to success. I can't wait to try the receipes included!

I learned that this diet requires your body to adopt to a few changes. Likewise the style of writing was easy to understand and precise. This guide serves as an excellent orientation when taking the right path to losing weight healthily with creative recipes and a diverse list of options to choose the best alternative. The author did a great job.

  Donna Schwenk is the author of Cultured Food for Life and the founder of www.culturedfoodlife.com. Very practical, down to earth introduction to micro stock business model with all the important aspects explained (tools, tips, ideas, common mistakes, copyright and tax information...). I especially appreciated there's no lengthy tirades promising easy money without work or dedication. Just the right amount of information and insight to keep photographers hoping to capitalize on their skills interested. Highly recommended.

We found him through the game Scrutineyes years ago, which featured his artwork as part of an object-finding game. My only gripe is I wish the format of these books was larger so that you could enjoy the detail of the art better. The Scrutineyes panels were much larger, which was nice, especially for those with older eyes. Overall, though, I highly recommend these amazing pieces of art!

I'm not quite sure how I found this, but I have the game Scrutineyes, which is my favorite and includes only a few of these pictures. When I saw the book, I couldn't believe there was a picture for every letter. It is also accompanied by a second book, the annotated version which lists every picture and what they are.Beautiful artwork and hours of viewing enjoyment.

Astoundingly Wonderful By Amazon Customer I cannot count the hours I spent pouring over the Annotated Ultimate Alphabet, starting when I was 10 and continuing through college, when my copy disappeared in a move. I'm delighted that it's finally reprinted, and I can share it again with friends and family. It is an astoundingly wonderful book.

There are chapters on hatching fish eggs in jars, the care of the fry, and rearing the young fish. It was the state of the art for 1913. It contains many illustrations and photographs (B/W).

About the Author George Sand is the pen name of Amantine Lucile Aurore Dupin, Baroness Dudevant, a 19th century French novelist and memoirist. Sand is best known for her novels Indiana, L?lia, and Consuelo, and for her memoir A Winter in Majorca, in which she reflects on her time on the island with Chopin in 1838-39. A champion of the poor and working classes, Sand was an early socialist who published her own newspaper using a workers co-operative and scorned gender conventions by wearing men s clothing and smoking tobacco in public. George Sand died in France in 1876.Known for his scrupulous devotion to his art and perfectionist style, French writer Gustave Flaubert is counted among the greatest Western novelists, and influenced such writers as Franz Kafka and J. M. Coetzee. Flaubert is best known for Madame Bovary, for which he was prosecuted (and acquitted) for offending public morals. His other works of note include Memoirs of a Madman, November, Salammb?, Sentimental Education, and The Temptation of Saint Anthony. His work has been widely adapted for the stage and screen. Flaubert died in 1880.

While it should seem a meeting of equals-- one does feel unmistakably that the younger Flaubert quite looks up to & idolizes the older Sand. While there is a certain amount of 19th century 'floral arrangement' one always has to pick thru with such period pieces... the candy drops and tarts littered throughout this correspondence of titans more than makes it all the worthwhile.

Their letters to each other gave me an insight into their creative as well as personal lives. I highly recommend it to people who are accustomed to the best in literate.Martha N. Fried
