Best book By Amazon Customer I've been training for over 18 years and have to say that Fit Actions is the best fitness book I've ever read. I've had it for 5 days and have followed the diet and training programs. Been sore for the first time in years and already feel tighter. These workouts are intense. I thought I was fit until I tried the advanced workouts. If you're ready to bring your fitness level and want to learn how to get results. I'd say put this in your library. Look forward to seeing the changes in the next month.

I work with professional athletes and see how fit you have to be to succeed. Not only is it about how you workout, but how you eat. This book nails exercise AND nutrition.After training with Doug and can tell you, he's in better shape than kids half his age and twice as tough.Anyone can follow his plans. It has everything you need from a beginner to professional to 40+ like me.

The format is easy to follow making it a quick read. I tried several of the recipes which were amazing high protein, low carb options.

About the Author Dr. Francesco Ancona is a Professor of English, Sussex County College since 1991; courses taught include The Interpretation of Dreams, Myth, Dream, and Image, and introduction to comparative mythologies. He is the author of several books: Writing the Absence of the Father: Undoing Oedipal Structures in the Contemporary American Novel (UPA); Myth: Matter of Mind? (UPA); Crisis in America: Father Absence (Nova Sciences); Femina Sapiens: Were Women the First Truly Thinking Human Beings? (Wyndham Hall) and He Says/She Says Shakespeare (UPA). His education includes Doctor of Medical Humanities, Drew University; Doctor of Arts, St. John s University; M.A. in English, Montclair State University; and a B.A. in American Studies, Ramapo State College. Dr. Ancona has also trained in psychoanalysis at Centenary College and the Academy of Clinical and Applied Psychoanalysis. He served as a McGraw Center Faculty Fellow at Princeton University and is a former Assistant Editor of the Journal of Evolutionary Psychology. He has been cited for teaching excellence by the NJ Council for County Colleges and is a member of the International Association for the Study of Dreams.

Rather, it’s a serious, heavily researched survey of the healing potential of dreams for body, mind, and soul. I like the way it combines research with personal anecdotes, some humorous and some quite touching.

85 of 87 people found the following review helpful. Wild Animals I Have Known By Latham Davis This is a reprinting of a book of wonderful stories by Ernest Thompson Seton. But buyer beware. The publisher has excluded all 200 of the author's sketches and drawings that help the stories come alive for both younger and older readers. In addition, the design of the book is amateurish. Type is spread across the page, with extra spaces between paragraphs, nothing like the pleasing style of the original editions. This is a lifeless shadow of an American classic.

There are no happy endings in this book, because the moral is that animals always die tragic deaths. But if you want to learn the laws of nature and better understand animals and their ways, these accounts of a hunter-trapper will reward you with hours of enchanted stort-telling.

I cried while reading about the pidgeon's fate, was happy when the rabbit was released, filled with respect for Lobo the wolf... It was one of the books that I'll always remember as being one of the greatest collection of stories. The language is simple yet exquisite, and the story flows so smoothly, you can read past midnight and not notice.Not only that, that book gave me a better understanding of animals - not as we humans tend to humanize animal emotions and actions, but as real animals think and feel. It definitely made me change my perspective on many subjects - my treatment of nature, of animals, even human relationships.All that when I was in my early teens. All that without any grownup having to "have a talk" with me or me even noticing that I got a "better understanding" of things.Now that my son is growing up here, I'm getting him his copy of the book, and I'm quite hopeful that it will bring him a lot of enjoyment as well as food for thought.

Very helpful By Amazon Customer Review for both books.Even if you're familiar with PS CC, a refresher course never hurts.For beginners, it might have been helpful if there would have been screenshots to clarify a few things.The book is well written, covers the basics, and points to some hidden gems that I knew, but forgot about it.There's one issue about editing RAW files. The author mentions "saving" the DNG raw file.DNG files are usually converted from the proprietary extension of the camera, either during import (if you use Lightroom) or the Adobe conversion utility.Once a photo has been processed, the DNG remains untouched, and you will be given the option of saving as PSD, TIF or JPG (and a few more).For a beginner, this might be a little confusing.

Postural Correction presents 30 of the most commonly occurring postural conditions in a comprehensive format, providing hands-on therapists and body workers the knowledge and resources to help clients address their malalignments. Focusing on treatment rather than assessment, it takes a direct approach and applies specific techniques to improve posture from an anatomical rather than aesthetic perspective.

Primarily concerned with the lengthening of shortened tissues to help realign body parts, Postural Correction offers a collective approach to remedying malalignment. Techniques vary for each posture correction, including deep tissue massage, simple passive stretches, soft tissue release, common trigger points, and gentle limb traction. Because weak or poorly functioning muscles may contribute to postural problems, the text notes what muscles need to be strengthened and includes recommendations on techniques. Suggestions also are made for those postures that are difficult to correct with hands-on techniques, such as scoliosis, genu valgum (knock knees), and genu varum (bow legs).

Recognizing that the work clients can carry out independently is a crucial component of long-term postural correction, this guide includes information on how clients can continue their therapy independently between or at the conclusion of their therapy sessions. Therapists can take these techniques and recommendations to advise, educate, and guide clients in their efforts. Much attention is paid to lifestyle, activities, and habitual use or resting of a body part that may have led to the initial pain and malalignment.

Structured by anatomical regions of the body to make accessing information quick and easy, Postural Correction tackles postural concerns commonly affecting the spine; pelvis; upper limbs, including the shoulder and elbow; and lower limbs, including the hip, knee, ankle, and foot. Examples from various sports and demographics such as the elderly offer contextual and applied value. Descriptions avoid biomechanical jargon and instead focus on simple, clear explanations. Information is also included for when hands-on techniques are limited in correcting a particular posture.

About the Author

Jane Johnson, MSc, is a chartered physiotherapist and sport massage therapist specializing in occupational health. In this role she spends much time assessing the posture of clients and examining whether work, sport, or recreational postures may be contributing to their symptoms. She devises postural correction plans that include both hands-on and hands-off techniques.

Johnson has taught continuing professional development (CPD) workshops for many organizations both in the UK and abroad. This experience has brought her into contact with thousands of therapists of all disciplines and informed her own practice. She is passionate about supporting and inspiring newly qualified or less confident therapists so they feel more self-assured in their work.

Johnson is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and is registered with the Health Professions Council. A member of the Medico Legal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists, she provides expert witness reports on cases involving soft tissue therapies.

In her spare time, Johnson enjoys taking her dog for long walks, sketching, and visiting museums. She resides in northeast England.

By Erik Vegan Up was recommended to me by a friend after she found out that I was very disappointed with the vegan recipe books I had bought so far for several reasons, and was about to give up on switching to a plant-based diet.Now, I’m so glad that I decided to buy the recipe book.Each of the dishes I’ve made so far have turned out spot on and are all super tasty.The fact that Chef Pascal doesn’t use any meat substitutes or unfermented soy ingredients in his wonderful creations has convinced me even more that he knows exactly what makes a healthy and tasty combination of whole-food ingredients.The recipes are written in such a clear way that everybody can follow them easily, and just looking at the pictures makes you craving to eat it straight away.“Vegan Up!” states how long the total preparation time is (which is pretty much standard), but it also states how much active time a recipe will take you. So you know in advance how much time you will need to spend in the kitchen.An exceptional feature of all the recipes is that each and every ingredient is listed with both measurements, imperial and metric. I am Australian and not familiar with the imperial U.S. measurements. Some cookbooks from the States do include a general conversion chart in the back, but this isn’t really helpful, as I like to stay on the page of the recipe, and ingredients have different densities and volume.I honestly highly recommend this book to everyone – vegan or non-vegan!

This is a treasury of stunning vegan food, proving that this cusisine does not need to be dull, and can be really tasty and enjoyable. I learned new hand positions to use while drawing as well as toning and shading my drawing. There’s also a step by step procedures on how to do portrait drawing, drawing from memory and dealing with drawing mistakes. It was fun to try the suggestions given as well I think. This is something I can share with my son who also likes to draw.

He's been showing an interest in drawing and we would really like to encourage him with it. Personally though I am not a creative person so I thought it would be a great idea for the both of us to bond over drawing. Eva's book has been a big help in even making my personal drawings bearable.

It reads like a book of instructions on how to put together something from Ikea. The handful of basic illustrations look like they are taken from Pixar's website. Nuff said. PS Five star reviews? Uggghhh. PPS I am a professional cartoonist living in Australia. My advice is to save your money (I downloaded this book while it was free) and spend it on a pen and some paper and just draw. PPPS Any down votes of my review will have come via one FB group or another. Ignore them. This book really does s#ck the big one.

Page turning read of a woman's struggle with a pathetic hsuband By Roanld Tenney Not being one to read many novels, this book was a fun departure for me. I came across an old friend that recommended this book. Sharing much of the background and culture with the main protagonist, I was very interested to see how this story played out.MJ feels trapped by a culture that promoted marriage to the “right guy” and in the “right place” at the “right time”. Her attraction to Walter was real enough, but for some reason she was blind to the nature of Walter’s self-centeredness and even cruelty until the time of their marriage. The abuse and neglect that follows is both hard to read and so frustrating. MJ doesn’t try to justify her choices. In fact, the way the story read to me, she seems to wonder herself why she continues to forgive and try to make it “work” with Walter. In order to not spoil the plot, I will say that I wanted to move through this book quickly wondering how this was going to end.This book promises to be one of three novels moving from the present to the past and even the future. It makes me wonder how her life will turn out. There are many unresolved issues and challenges facing MJ and her only son, Christopher.An LDS reader may find himself recoiling at the criticism directed at the culture of the church. I viewed her story as one person’s authentic experience or interpretation of her life through the lens of her family, her church and her difficult and often unproductive choices. I am cheering for MJ in her future books.

Deep Internal Strength By Linda H Rather than pity MJ--her fairy tail shattered by a cheating, lying, stupid husband, she is to be applauded for not wallowing in self-pity. We’re treated to her eloquent discourse as she reasons soundly with herself, and exhibits tremendous self-restraint while expressing clear terms of change for her husband.A masterfully written story that refuses to sink to bitter diatribe, yet skillfully balances considerations of child welfare, religious constraints, financial burdens, and care for a spouse who no longer deserves such compassion.An inspiration, and sometimes blueprint, for women who are dealing with a cheating spouse while trying to keep the household afloat as well as their own sanity intact.

By Amazon Customer If you know anything about growing up in a structured religious family, you know just what sort of frustration and turmoil this character is going through. There will be those that give a one-star simply because they believe the author is attacking the foundation of the church, so you should dismiss those reviews. This is a well established, knee-jerk reaction from those still under the LDS spell. This is a well written, descriptive story about one woman's struggle to break the bonds on the establishment and save herself and her child from a destructive relationship and start anew. Whatever it takes. Love this story!

I even invested in an expensive juicer and these two would be a perfect pair. There's a lot of recipes I have never tried yet and they absolutely look healthy, easy to prepare and great on the budget. This is perfect for those who have kids and/or husbands who hate veggies simply because it is the easiest way to sneak vegetables on their juice and they would be clueless about it!
