By Michael Weaver Not a play for actual superhero fans... saw this performed at the "Arizona Thespian Festival" and left about 10 minutes into the show. I understand it's a parody, but having Wonder Woman kill "Every single man in the world" and then say that she's a superhero doesn't make any sense. Making fun of Aquaman would've been hilarious for anyone who hasn't read a comic book in their life, but for comic readers, we know Aquaman isn't someone to be made fun of.One of my friends, who isn't even a giant superhero fan, left after the first act. He didn't leave earlier because the people he was with wouldn't let him get up and leave, so he told them "I need to use the restroom" when the first intermission occurred, and found me sitting on a bench outside holding in my anger. This is catered to superhero fans who've yet to read a comic book, or people with really poor senses of humor; none of the jokes are clever...If you're going to make a parody, fine. But don't start the play saying (and I might be paraphrasing here) "Nerds are awesome." followed by "They will rule the world!" which is then followed by "Oh by the way people retcon stuff in comic books all the time so we're going to retcon these superhero's origins so we can make stupid jokes that wouldn't be possible unless we retcon these characters." the script justifies this by saying "... comic books retcon stuff all the time, superhero origins are always getting changed."Except comic books don't do that. If you're talking about the Ultimate/Noir/2099 comics line in Marvel, or the Elseworlds comic line in DC, those aren't canon. They didn't retcon anything, they made a completely new interpretation of the character while still sticking to the characters' roots... in modern comics today, Superhero origins are still the same... and Wonder Woman doesn't kill every man on the Earth. To the writer of this script, read Geoff Johns' Aquaman- or just any comic book to understand why this pissed off comic fans like myself. To anyone who is considering buying/performing this script... why?

By DudeWhoWentToThespianFestival This was the show that was done by a high school for the Phoenix Thespian Festival and the crowd absolutely LOVED IT. I loved the show and I purchased the script on site. Don't regret it one bit.
