But after reading this guide, I decided to wake up a little earlier just so I could allot time for eating. On one of the chapters of the book, it is written that we should never skip breakfast and I followed what the author said because all of the advice and pointers that she mentioned are backed up with actual facts and not just pure blabber. I’m really fascinated with Mediterranean diet and this book has perfectly narrated the history of this diet. It also contains 50 scrumptious dishes, complete with snacks and desserts, and accompanied with a perfect time to prepare those meals. She even debunked some of the Mediterranean diet myths!

You'll get a detailed history of the Mediterranean diet. You'll learn about how it can help your health, and even specific health concerns. The author provides you with a great list of foods eaten on the diet for quick reference.The author breaks down what portions of your daily diet should be fat, protein and carbs. She covers shopping for the food, how to curb your cravings and rules to follow. You are provided with tons of great recipes categorized by meal.Breakfast- for example good morning couscous and chicken and veggie breakfast wrapLunch- for example spicy pita burgers and Mediterranean shish kebabsDinner- for example stuffed Portobello mushrooms and cheesy eggplant sandwichSnacks- for example Mediterranean sushi and sweet baked bananasDessert- for example warm sweet hot cherries and walnut spice barsThe author provides you with a 1 week diet plan, with all of your meals laid out for you. She also gives you ways to adjust it to exactly what you're l looking for. Overall the book is a great jumping off point for learning how to eat a Mediterranean diet. Easy to follow, easy to find ingredients By Kristi This book is a great beginners guide when wanting to try the Mediterranean Diet. I really like that it has a lot of information in the beginning of the book like the history of the diet and the type of foods that you will be eating on the diet.The recipes include breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and dessert, with ten recipes for each section. I found this to be a good amount of recipes to experiment with and you will definitely find at least one that you love. Each recipe is displayed in a simple, easy to read format beginning with ingredients and ending with nutrient breakdown. The nutrient breakdown is a nice addition that you do not always see in recipe books but it is very handy especially if you are counting calories or carbs.The directions are numbered and very easy to follow - perfect for a beginner! The ingredients are not too exotic - I didn't have any problems finding ingredients in my local grocery store. I did notice goat cheese in one or two recipes which I didn't try and might be somewhat difficult to find. But, I think that you may be able to find goat cheese at Walmart (look in the Mexican cheese section).Overall, a great recipe book for beginners and people who are curious about the Mediterranean Diet. Lots of good recipes at a really great value!
