About the Author
Lisa Tremont Ota is registered dietitian with graduate degrees in public health nutrition and spirituality. Her passion and expertise about the unbreakable links between food and spirituality are the result of almost thirty years of academic, professional, and personal exploration.
She earned a BS in nutrition and clinical dietetics along with a departmental citation award in 1987. She went on to earn a master’s degree in public health nutrition, with high honors, in 1990 and an MA in culture and creation spirituality in 1997.
She’s made guest appearances on radio and TV, written monthly nutrition columns, and provided hundreds of presentations on her unique perspective regarding food. She has also contributed to several books on health, diet, and spiritual community.
Honoring her Cherokee heritage, Ota now uses shamanic ritual and technique in her workshops and healing practices, led by her animal spirit guides.

By Amazon Customer This is a wonderful and personal compilation of life's journey and relationship with food. Beautiful and inspiring photos of food in its natural state and wide, colorful varieties. I enjoyed meeting Lisa last year and was eager to finish the book. The experience rekindled my love for all the wonderful things I love to eat that also in turn make me feel so good and strong.

It inspired me to eat better and to think of how my food choices affect my family and the earth. I liked the spiritual aspect of eating as it reminded me to slow down and really enjoy what I choose to eat. Overall, it is easy to read, with inspiring stories and offers motivation to choose a healthy diet.

Aims to nurture on many levels By Shaman Noodles What a great book that combines many different aspects of food and nutrition that seems to be so needed these days. It incorporates aspects of spirituality in a very thoughtful and connective way and inspires to eat better and more consciously. Love the arrangement and the concept is fresh and pulls you in from the start. Very well written and conceived.
